An electric transport refrigeration unit designed for trailer use has recently concluded its field testing phase with a prominent Michigan-based grocery retailer. This retailer is noted for managing one of the largest vehicle fleets in the state.
The electric refrigeration unit, tailored for the transport of single-temperature groceries, has accumulated close to 4,000 hours in customer trials up to this point. Throughout the testing period, operational data and route analytics were meticulously collected through an integrated telematics system. This data collection was aimed at enhancing the development and efficiency of future electric transport solutions.
As the trials progress, there are plans to extend testing through 2023, which will include the introduction of a multi-temperature version of the electric trailer for further evaluation.
